The Museum is housed in an ancient Fort, which until 1970 remained the residence of the ruler of the Principality. The exposition of the Museum includes archaeological and ethnographic sections, a collection of ancient weapons, the halls devoted to the history of the police of the Emirates. A special interest may cause the reconstruction of past life and traditional crafts with the use of "wax" figures. The exhibition recreates the atmosphere of the past years and past ways of life.

In the Museum are objects whose age is more than 4000 years. In the course of the excavations numerous burials, necklaces, ceramic fragments and other belongings of the inhabitants of fishing villages.
