Rock the Iconostasis is an unusual monument, located in Turochaksky region of the Altai region, on the right coast of the river Biya, between two villages - Uglovka and Turocak.

Rock the Iconostasis is a steep cliff with a height of 80 m. the Rock is composed of granite, formed about 300 million years ago. Its pyramidal shape, natural monumentality and grandeur reminiscent of the iconostasis of the Church - from here and the name of the rock that was circulated to local residents.

The main value of this rock is its historic, aesthetic, scientific and tourist value. The status of a monument of nature Gorno-Altai Autonomous oblast rock Iconostasis received in 1978 and In 1996, the status of the natural monument was confirmed by Decree of the Government of the Altai Republic dated 16.02.1996 G.

Long time rock Iconostasis was one of the beautiful, but, unfortunately, unknown rocks on the territory of Altai Krai. However, after it appeared embossed bas-relief of V. I. Lenin, rock became known throughout the country. The image of Lenin appeared on the surface of the rock in its center at a height of 40 m. in the postwar period and was made by local artist Ivan Sychev.
According to local legend, I. Sychev knew that he was terminally ill and decided to leave some memory for the ages. For a month he was able to create two bas-reliefs, which he dedicated a famous Communist leaders. Under the image of Lenin you can see all the famous slogan: "the Name of Lenin, his business, work and teachings will live on forever".

Rock the Iconostasis is very interesting due to its nature. It is composed of Devonian granite. Among the plants growing here are most often found aspen, pine, birch and fir. In addition, on a cliff, there are about 15 species of tertiary relics, among them Robert geranium and European wild ginger.
