The house-Museum of academician A. N. Beketov in Professor lane of the city of Alushta was built in the Moorish style in 1896, the author of the project was made by A. N. Beketov. Land for building a house famous architect Beketov gave his father, a famous Russian Fushimi N. N. Beketov. Also A. N. Beketov was the founder of the Kharkov school of architecture. During the long stay in the Crimea, the academician of architecture made an enormous contribution to the development of the Crimea as a resort. His buildings always harmoniously into the urban form and never broke a General view of the current situation.

The opening of the house-Museum of A. N. Beketov was held in November 1987 thanks to the initiative of V. P. Cyganik, with the participation of relatives Beketov and support Alushta city Executive Committee. The basis of the Museum was based on the drawings, documents, photographs, paintings and drawings, personal belongings of the architect, household items, furniture. All of this was donated to the Museum by the daughter of the architect E. A. Beketova and grandson of F. S. Rofe-Beketov. In the formation of the collection was also involved, and other relatives Beketova-Alchevsk from Yalta, Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Today the Museum has more than a thousand exhibits. The main section of the exhibition tells about the life and work of academician A. N. Beketov, his legacy in Ukraine and in the Crimea; on the role of the family in Alchevsk the history and culture of Ukraine and Russia. In the house-Museum has exhibition halls, which presents paintings of the masters of 19th - early 20th century modern artists of Ukraine and Crimea. Also in the Museum of academician A. N. Beketov creative lounge is open. Here there are artists, scientists, musicians, poets and writers, are literary, musical, Orthodox holidays and living in an old family traditions testify.

The family home Beketova - a monument of wooden architecture. In 20 years of activity, this Museum has become not only a cultural but also a spiritual center of Alushta.
