The Eastern Church – the old Protestant Church in the Dutch capital Amsterdam. Interestingly, the most famous and oldest Church of Amsterdam not known the names of the saints in whose honour they were dedicated, and at times building (Old and New Church) or by their location (Northern, southern, Western and Eastern Church.

Of these historic churches of the East is the newest, it was built in the late XVII century (1669-1671, and was built as a Protestant, unlike, for example, from North or South, who were originally Roman Catholic.

In plan the Church is a Greek cross, in the angles between the rays are additional outbuildings. The roof is crowned with a small cupola with a clock, the bell strikes every half hour. Canal side is the main entrance with a balustrade. The interior of the Church, as in most Protestant churches is characterized by simplicity and austerity, as well as an abundance of light. In winter the Church is heated. The organ in the Church was erected in 1871. In the Church are buried many famous people, including the architect of this Church Adrian Dartsman.

In 1962 the Church was no longer used for worship and gradually decayed and collapsed. Reconstruction was carried out in the 1980-ies. The Church is now mainly used for concerts, including the organ. In particular, there are performances of young talents. The auditorium seats 150 people.
