The capital of the Kingdom of the Netherlands city of Amsterdam is a city on the water. It is located at the confluence of two rivers, the Amstel and Hey, besides, Amstel forms an extensive network of canals and channels. One of the most famous bridges of Amsterdam is called the Membranous bridge – white wooden drawbridge. It was built in 1691 and was so narrow that the citizens were immediately called his Skinny bridge. According to the legend, the construction of the bridge ordered two sisters who lived on opposite banks of the Amstel river, but was not enough money and savings had to be made very narrow bridge.
