In the North-West of the Aragonese Pyrenees, on the border with France is a small village of ANSO. This small town, whose population as of 2010 is only 441 people, covers an area of 224 square kilometres and is part of the province of Huesca.

The settlement of ANSO existed here since the 13th century and had a strategic importance due to the fact that was on the route from the valley of the river aragón, where the wide local pastures, to the French border.

Once the ANSO was a busy and prosperous town, which were developed agriculture, cattle breeding and wood processing industry. In the middle of the last century, the city was going through difficult times, but also that after 50 years and is falling into disrepair due to the dramatically decreased population. Recently, the city again began to flourish, today it is successfully developing tourism, new hotels, restaurants and cafés, making the flow of tourists is growing every year. This certainly contributes to the good geographical location, beautiful nature and favorable climate conditions. People come here to enjoy the clean air, magnificent forests, walks in the mountains, stay at a cozy river beach on the river Veral. In the nearby forests and mountains one can see wild animals and birds, many of which are rare.

Among the attractions we note the parish Church of San Pedro, built in the 16th century in the Gothic style, inside of which is the magnificent altar in the Baroque style, House of Moraine, city Council building, as well as the Ethnological Museum, opened in 1974.
