Olympic Museum was opened on 21 March 2007 after in 2005 the project was approved by the city Council of Barcelona. The Museum is located on the hill of Montjuic, the Olympic stadium.

The Museum presents a display showcasing the history of the sport since the days of Ancient Greece, where it gave birth to the Olympic games, and to the present day. The exhibition presents the theme of sporting events, recreational sports, sport for the disabled. Here demonstrates the importance of sports and its influence on formation of system of values, upbringing, physical and cultural growth.

Each of the four halls of the Museum reveals his subjects, to whom it is dedicated. In the first room shown on important sports events, the moments devoted to important sports people. The second hall reveals the history of the Olympic games held in Barcelona in 1992. The third hall is dedicated to sports scores and outstanding victories. Here there are such exhibits as the bike Miguel Indurain, motorcycles ángel Nieto and Alex Krepela, a Formula 1 race car Mickey kkinen and many others.

The fourth room is dedicated to a time when the international Olympic Committee was headed by Ukraine enjoy seeing the masterpiece Juan Antonio Samaranch. Presented here are any belongings, as well as a large number of medals, torches, paintings, photographs, badges, sports trophies, posters, publications and publications for the sports theme. All this was presented to the Museum by the Samaranch. In 2010, the Museum was renamed the Olympic sports Museum named Juan Antonia Samaranch. This man has made a huge contribution to the development of the Olympic movement. For his outstanding achievements in the field of sport and the contribution to the Olympic movement the king of Spain awarded Samaranch in 1991 the title of Marquis.
