The Marco Polo bridge otherwise referred to as Logo and thrown across the river Angling. The bridge is located 14 kilometres from the Central square in Beijing, Tiananmen.

Called the Marco Polo bridge became known after the great Italian traveler wrote about it in his diary a little note with the words, full of admiration. Logo is one of the oldest mnogoarochnaya bridges of stone, located in Beijing. Its construction was started in 1189, and was completed in 1192. Later, in 1698, the bridge was reconstructed and updated.

The lions have an unusual feature – every great conceals the little that can be located on the back, legs, under the belly or in the mane. People several times tried to count lions only in quantity, but each time the results were different - about 480. However, according to surviving documents, originally the columns were 627 lions.

Poses and age, all lions are different. The majority of lions was delivered during the reign of the Ming dynasty, and also the distance of the Qing. But some were on the pillars, and even before that during the reign of the yuan dynasty, and the oldest – in the reign of Jin, but very few are left.

From the East entrance to the bridge is protected by the WANPING fortress, which has just two gates of East and West. The Marco Polo bridge starts from the West gate of the fortress.
