Close to Braga Cathedral is the Palace Biscainhos. The Palace was built in the late 16th century and is a magnificent illustration of the Baroque style that was used in the architecture of the city.
The Palace, like many other houses in the years has undergone changes and restorations. However, it is worth noting that in the 18th century the interior of the Palace was very elegant - wall tiles "Azulejos", ceilings with stucco embossed, 18th-century paintings and many other details and decorations, typical of the Baroque style.

The garden has three levels and is surrounded by a wall with buttresses, making it similar to a medieval fortress.
In 1963, the Palace was purchased by the government after over 300 years was an aristocratic residence. And in 1978, the Palace was opened the Museum of Ethnography and art.
