House of arts - Museum of international contemporary art in Bregenz, capital of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. The Museum is one of the most prominent contemporary art galleries in Europe from the perspective of the richness and originality of exhibition programs.

The arts house was built in 1996 by the Swiss architect Peter Cantarana for public order. An impressive four-storey building of the Museum is in the "Lower city" near the lake.

One of the main contemporary art galleries is a fine example of architectural minimalism. The building is in the form of a cube of glass, resting on a metal base with concrete walls inside. The facade consists of glass panels of equal size. Spatial concept assumes the presence of daylight in all the rooms of the Museum. The exhibition halls cover an area of 1880 square meters. The interior is dominated by an unpainted concrete. On the ground floor are located the offices, lobby and a small exhibition area of 500 square meters. Upper floors have high ceilings, each of which can be used as one large space or decrease with mobile partitions, depending on the project. All these thoughtful interiors are a great place for art installations.

Art house holds international exhibitions and projects, but also contributes to the formation of cultural identity of their region, exposing young professionals at regional exhibitions. Examples are the work of Gottfried Bechtold, Silvretta, Jenny Holzer, demonstrated during the temporary projects.

Along with exhibitions, the Museum offers extensive educational program, and publishes interesting papers and articles, thematic catalogues for professionals and visitors.
