There is a Privatised one tourist attraction, which is known far beyond the city and even the country. It is the oldest Czech wooden Church. It is at the local cemetery, consecrated in the name of St. Mary and perfectly preserved to our days.

Locals often call it the Church "under the Linden trees", as the cemetery where it is located, century-old trees. The Church blends perfectly with them, it blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape and looks simple and elegant.

As you know, the city of Broumov was founded in 1171. Just six years after its Foundation the city was built the first Church was a wooden Church of the virgin Mary. They say that the funds for its construction were given by the rich girl who professed paganism, but recently had an Epiphany. She donated to the Church his headdress decorated with pearls and precious stones, and therefore not having pictures. It can be among the exhibits at the city Museum of the city of Broumov. Surprisingly, this piece is carefully kept for 9 centuries.

First mention of the Church of St. Mary, which here is called a parish, we meet in the documents 1383 year. In 1421, the town was besieged by the Hussites, who failed to capture it. But the suburbs are not so carefully guarded as the center, so the Hussites destroyed the Church cemetery. Still something left of her, as citizens just repaired and not erected again.

The Church was the epicenter of the fire, its hard restored. In the XVIII century it was reconstructed by adding to the existing construction low bell tower.
