One of the youngest churches Ceske Budejovice would never have been built if not for the generous donations from citizens for the construction of another temple – the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. People gathered on the construction of this temple half a million crowns. Funds were very many. The Cathedral got rich finish, and the money still remained. Then the local Bishop Josef antonín Echoing decided to give them for the construction of another temple. For this purpose in 1913 was chosen as a suitable site on the outskirts of české budějovice.
In the next two years the Church was built. Builder managing work - antonín procházka is erected a neat building in the Romanesque style. The architect of this temple was made by Anton möller Emmaus. In 1915 the Church was consecrated and became parishioners. A year after the Church was opened, there appeared the monks of the Dominican order, who took over the management of this Church. They manage here until 1923, and then were forced to withdraw from all the powers. In 1925, the Church became the spiritual centre of the parish.
The Church has two bell towers. To get to the top, using a small open stairways which are located on the roof. In the West tower with a large bell, which was cast in the middle of the last century. The lobby of this tower is decorated with reliefs depicting biblical characters.
In 2010 the Church was closed for restoration, during which was renovated façade, roof covering work conducted in the interior of the Church.
