The Roman Catholic exaltation of the cross Church is one of the main attractions of the city. It is located near the city center, on Beethoven street, building 2.

The Church was built in 1814 on the decree of Emperor Joseph II, who during a visit to Chernivtsi was outraged that the Catholic community of the city there is only a small chapel. And although the Church was built with the support and funding of the Emperor, it finished just after three decades. In 1818 one of the walls appeared first Church watch, which later were replaced several times with new ones. In addition, the side tower decorated with a sundial.

The first large-scale renovation, which changed the appearance of the Church, held in 1910. In this way the Church came to our times. To preserve the unique interior and the interior of the 19th century failed due to the fact that in Soviet times the Church was still operating.

Outside of the exaltation of the cross Church looks monumental, and at the same time, thanks to a light beige color of the walls - air.

Today, the Church is valid. There is a regular service.
