In 1981 the national Park DOI Suthep-Pui was registered as the 24th Park in Thailand. For several years, his territory stretched on 261 sq. km.
The national Park is located along the mountain range with peaks of DOI Suthep, DOI Pui and DOI Bringha. The highest point is DOI Pui, which is 1 658 meters above sea level. In the gorges of mountains and rivers, which are tributaries of the major arteries of the Ping river.
Thanks to the terrain in the Park remains a pleasant climate throughout the year, the average temperature is 16°C. In the national Park are represented as tropical evergreen forests, and deciduous and pine. Here in complete freedom of deer, monkeys, macaques, and more than 200 species of birds.
The national Park has many interesting and beautiful places. Some of them are known to many, others only have to open. For example, winter Royal residence, the Palace Phu Ping with the original landscape and rare collection of colors. The legendary DOI Suthep temple, built in 1384 under mysterious circumstances. In the temple a staircase of 300 steps, decorated with snake-Naga, and offers a great view of Chiang Mai. The monument to the monk Phra Kru Ba Siwichai, which in 1934 was instrumental in the construction of the road from the foot of the mountain to DOI Suthep. Waterfalls Huay Kaeo, situated right at the foot of DOI Suthep. Falls Monta Tan consists of three stupa, impressive powerful water falling from a great height. The Mae Sa waterfall consists of 8 steps, each of which is from 100 to 500 meters. The Hmong village on the top of DOI Pui kept all the traditions of this nation. There is no electricity or mobile phones, only clay floors, self-sewed clothes and a great view of the city.
