Ten kilometers South of the capital of Chuvashia is a settlement Kugesi, where is a workshop of folk arts and the Museum of national art of embroidery "Wonderful embroidery - Groin Tere".
A unique Museum dedicated to the ancient folk art, opened in July 2009 on the basis of the workshop "Groin Tere" engaged in artistic craft since 1923. In the main Fund of the Museum includes a collection of costumes, hats, Bridal veils, robes, belts, napkins and other products, embroidered with unique patterns Chuvash craftswomen. In the vintage ornament elements stored characters of the runic alphabet, symbols play an important role in religious ceremonies.
The works of internationally famous brand "Groin Tere" embroidered Chuvash ornament made from 1920-ies, are the cultural and historical heritage of Chuvashia. The Museum presents historical documents and photographs describing the development of the national fishery to the present day. In one of the halls of the Museum presents works of young designers, already made on modern equipment, and modern national costumes with embroidery.
Among the various exhibits of the Museum there are works of famous folk mistresses Mary'yevna Simakova, dedicated to a life of folk craft. Her works were exhibited in the exhibition center, various competitions and fairs, as well as assets of leading Russian museums and in private collections in Russia and abroad. Photos of the best works of Simakova were published in 2004 in the publication landscape type "Chuvash patterns", some of them are presented in the national art Museum of embroidery in Kugesi.
