In the small village of Chuvashia - Tagaeva, founded in 1546, Chuvash Prince Tugay, is one of the most beautiful temples of Chuvashia.

The first wooden Church in the village was built and consecrated in honor of St. Michael the Archangel in 1748. After two fires, it was decided to erect a stone Church. Since August of 1907 the parish priest was Alexey Bogatyrev, broadly educated man. Suddenly the language of tilted bells struck with such force that the Commissioner at the sight of all the congregation flew out the window of the bell tower and fell on the porch of the temple. Further attempts to destroy the Church, built by the people, was not. Rector, A. A. Bogatyrev was repeatedly subjected to harassment and arrest while in 1936 not died. Subsequent priests in the Soviet years were also arrested and repressed, but the temple was always open to parishioners.
