Famous in its time for its Palace and Park ensemble, lush receptions and theatrical performances, estate of Marfino and today represents one of the remarkable pages in the history of Russian architecture.

Known since the XVI century, covered with legends, Marfino is somehow connected with the names of prominent public figures - B. Golitsyn, Saltykov, panins and representatives of Russian culture - N. Karamzin, F. Vigel and many others.

Creators Marfinsky ensemble were talented serf masters V. Belozerov, F. Tovarov and an outstanding Russian architect M. bykowski, demonstrating the diversity of talents and outstanding skill.

In the centre on a high hill stands a two-storey Palace. Jagged ridges, pointed turrets, arched Windows make it look like a medieval castle. In front of the Palace instead of the usual front yard - huge pond, around which are grouped the main buildings of the estate. From the centre of the Palace to the pond terraces down a wide stone staircase, ending in a jetty. On the left is an unusual bridge with loopholes - the original main entrance to the estate, beyond which are seen the two churches, on the right is a picturesque Park with pavilions. Well seen and a courtyard. Complementing each other, these buildings evoke a sense of fairy-tale.

Manor Church of the Nativity of the blessed virgin Mary erected by Vassily Belozyorov. The architecture of the Church is quite original: a cruciform shape with eight faceted multiple Windows and stone carvings on the outer walls. The temple stands on the top of the cylinder drum and the dome.

After the revolution Marfino was occupied by military sanatorium and was rebuilt. And now the architectural ensemble of the estate requires restoration.
