One of the five oldest urban parks in Bulgaria is located in the city of Dobrich. At the time of its Foundation this Park, established in 1867, is ahead of the other, located in Varna, Rousse and Bourgas. It was originally occupied an area of 15,000 square meters, today only one lake covers an area of 18,000 square meters. The presence of a large reservoir in Central Park makes Dobrich one of the few cities that can boast a similar attraction.

First, in the Park of St. George, located near the center of the city, there were four main alley width from 3 to 5 meters. Line these walkways were held throughout the territory of Park space. When planting was used mainly drought-resistant plants: aloe, Yucca, agave.

During the Russian-Turkish war for the maintenance of order in the Park no one was watching. However, after the Liberation, the local population actively helped in the restoration and beautification were in desolate areas.

In 50-ies of the last century, when Dobrich received the status of a district centre, the Park was greatly expanded. On the area of 430 thousand square meters were built football stadium, Playground, in the Eastern part there is a small artificial ponds and cliffs, waterfalls, grotto, and there appeared gymnastic facilities and sports complex "Mladost", summer swimming pool, theater and more.

Modern reconstruction of the city Park began in 2004. During the first phase was recovered the oldest part of the Park. Have been updated lawns, repaired the roadway alleys, fix the lighting. With its location, layout and composition solution of this territory was given the status of a monument of garden-Park art.

In subsequent stages was updated that part, which contains tennis courts. In the future it is planned to restore the rose garden, which was in a place called "Darwinia grad". In the project construction area with all facilities for such sports as skateboarding, Biking, climbing, paintball, water sports, etc. Now Park visitors can enjoy a ride around the lake on a scooter or catamaran. Swimming and fishing in the pond is prohibited.
