The Austrian city of Eisenstadt is famous because in it, in the period from 1766 to 1778 years, lived the great composer Joseph Haydn. Today, within the walls of his home then, is a Museum dedicated to the works of the musician.
The two-storey building built in the first half of the eighteenth century, its facade is decorated flat moldings that adorn the four small Windows. The goal of the Museum is to show the life of the composer as a normal person of his age. The staff tried to design the interior the way he looked during the life of Haydn. Most of the furniture, if not belonged to Joseph Haydn in person, were made in the historical period. The most valuable exhibits are one time belonged to the musician, the piano and organ from table nearby Church – Bergkirchen.
Along with the house Haydn acquired and garden plot, where he together with his wife Anna Eloise cultivated flowers and spices. According to contemporaries, Haydn liked to relax in his garden, and a garden gazebo are born some of his works. In 1778 the composer sold the site, but in 2002, the garden was revived and today is included in the list of exhibits of the Museum of Haydn.
The most welcome visitors to the Museum are, of course, children. A group of children welcomed by the great composer in a wig and historic costume and more hours talks about his life, with the help of probing questions helps to compare past and present. Children during the tour, sing, play music, and at the end make a beautiful flower, which they are allowed to take home as a souvenir, a reminder of this interesting excursion into the past.
