Lower mineral baths - one of the main architectural attractions of the city of Essentuki. Occupying a large area, they are located in the Lower Park, under the shade of the ancient trees, opposite the gallery mineral spring No. 17. The building of the baths was erected in 1902 by the Author of this project were made by the St. Petersburg architect I. I. Baikov.

In 1938, the building was completely renovated: added a second floor was added to the left wing, and the front entrance has issued a powerful portico, which is supported by monumental columns. Very much an institution suffered during the German occupation, but in 1949, it was restored. At that time, resumed its activity and the largest in Europe inhalatorium.

The hospital was equipped according to all requirements of that time. In the Lower mineral baths operated 44 treatment booths, each of them had two dressing rooms. The medical school was equipped with a large comfortable lobby to wait and special rooms for relaxation.

In the Lower baths were released "salt-alkaline and carbon-hydrogen sulfide baths. In addition, there was conducted a special gynecologic procedures. At the Bottom of the tubs worked hydrotherapy Department with two divisions – male and female.

From 1939 to ensure there is a Central inhalatorium. Before there were only small separate inhaler, which began its operation in 1926 at some resorts. Inhalatorium occupied the second floor of the Lower tubs. In the building were equipped rooms for alkali and oil inhalation total inhalation, resting room, doctors ' offices and a laboratory.

In their capacities Essentuki Central inhalatorium recognized as one of the best and most powerful in the CIS. Today, unfortunately, the Lower the mineral baths are practically not functioning because of lack of funding from the state.
