Medersa Bou Inania is not just a former Muslim religious school, but also one of the most interesting sights of the ancient city of FEZ. It is among the masterpieces of world architecture.

Medersa Bou Inania was erected in 1350-1355, in the Moorish style. The initiator of its creation was made by Bou Inan. This is the only school in the city, which has its own minaret. It was used not only as schools, but as the Friday mosque. A feature of the madrasah was that was located near shops, the proceeds of which contained the school itself.

Inside the madrasah there are courtyards, prayer and training space, and accessed from the main yard. The complex is richly decorated with luxurious faience decor, exquisite plaster moldings and wood carving. On the facade you can see the old complex system of water-clock, which are a unique instance, preserved until today. Earlier, a Muslim religious school at the same time can learn up to 100 boys 8-10 years of age, but now she is not acting and acts as a monument of the era of Merindol.

In the center of the madrasa Bou Inania you can see a large marble fountain. Next to it is a gallery and a hall for prayers, which are living quarters. The prayer hall itself is very beautiful: the light gets into the room through the magnificent stained-glass Windows, decorated with interesting geometric designs and expensive mouldings.

Near the Central gate of the madrasa Bou Inania is a small wooden door, framed by sturdy columns, which is called the "Gate-nots." This input is designed for Muslims who came to ask for help. Located near the very small shops that sold a variety of items made by students.

Special attention to visitors are the walls decorated with arabesques and mosaics, carved cedar ceiling, made in the form of marine shell and also a pool located in the hall for ablutions.

Today medersa Bou Inania is a pearl, a precious masterpiece, testifying to the richness of the ancient Imperial city of Fes.
