Cape Todor is a quirky, interesting shape. It enters the sea immediately by its three spurs. Therefore they were called "Neptunovskim Trident". The highest and most southern spur is Ah-Todorsky "tooth". He has long served to sailors very reliable and clear guide.
On the highest peak of the spur is a lighthouse, which is visible far out to sea. Its visibility reaches more than fifty miles. This lighthouse has cultural and historical value, but still serving its purpose. Beside him, on the slope of the mountain there is a row of old trees. They are remnants of the southern coastal forests. This forest far beyond a hundred years.
Grow in this area mostly powerful oak trees, pistachio trees and beautiful junipers. The greatest value is pistachio tree that grows near the lighthouse. This tree is already more than a thousand years. It is officially listed in the red data book and is the oldest tree of the Crimea.
AI-Todor was used as a lighthouse–a landmark long before and was listed on handwritten geographic maps. Currently there is an old handwritten Italian map, authored by Visconti, it is applied to the reference point AI-Todor. On the map there is the date -1318 year. In the 15th century, the Cape AI-Todor skirted the famous traveler Nikitin. He traveled from Balaklava to the beautiful city of Feodosia.
Some time on the Cape there was a Roman fortification. Archaeologists who found the remains, called the hyrax.
Currently AI-Todorsky landmark-the lighthouse, which was built in 1835 with the participation of M. P. Lazarev, commander in chief incumbent of the black sea fleet, operates successfully.
