Currently the Museum has seven departments: Department of ancient art, Department of contemporary art, Department of Ethnography, Department of the traditions of the Polish nobility, Department of "green gate", Department of photos of Gdansk and the division of the national anthem.

The Museum presents Poland's largest collection of works by Anton möller (1563-1611) – artist, known in the art world as an artist from Gdansk". Also, here is the famous painting of Hans Memling's "last judgment".

Permanent exhibition of the Department of contemporary art includes works by Polish artists of the 19th and 20th centuries (paintings, sculptures, ceramics). It often hosts contemporary art exhibitions, concerts of chamber music and creative meetings.
