The Palazzo Comunale is one of the main palaces of Florence, the tourist attraction of the city. He faces the Northern end of the Piazza Dante. Nearby stands the majestic Cathedral of San Lorenzo. The left side of the facade of the Palazzo overlooks Corso Carducci – the main street of the historic center of Grosseto. Today in the Palazzo Comunale is located Giunta (administrative Executive body), the City Council and administrative agencies Grosseto.

The Palazzo was built in the second half of the 19th century – or rather, in 1867, the year, to accommodate the City Council, which until that time was occupied by the now demolished building of the Palazzo Pretorio. On the place where today stands the castle once housed the Church of San Giovanni Decollato, later secularized and transformed into a warehouse. The Church then completely demolished.

Above the Central arch on the small terrace has national flags. In two other semicircular arches, you can go inside. The upper part of the facade is remarkable pediment with a clock.

The left side of the facade of the Palazzo Comunale in some features similar to the main facade – there are also entrance doors with semi-circular arches. The first floor of both facades of stone, while the upper floors are completely plastered. In General, the overall style of the Palazzo Comunale can be attributed to neo-Renaissance.
