Waterfall Gorica is located at the Northern foot of Rila mountain, near Owcharts – a small village in Western Bulgaria. Owcharts is located a few minutes drive from the town of Sapareva Banya and it is known due to the beautiful nature surrounding it, and seven beautiful waterfalls nearby. River Gorica gives rise to these unique phenomena of nature, who are happy to come to see both adults and children. Artery originates on top of a mountain in Kabul and down, cutting a path in the rocks and form beautiful water cascades.

The highest waterfall of the river Gorica is one that comes down from almost 40 meters high.

To get to the attractions can be a special tourist trail that runs from the village of Owcharts, then along the river, through the thick forest. Particularly well here in late spring when everything is blooming, and the waterfall appears in front of strangers in full splendor.

The total height of the natural attractions is 39 meters. Near is especially a small Playground with benches where you can sit, relax and watch the Gorica. Adjacent area perfect for relaxing and picnics.

The name of the waterfall the locals told an interesting legend. She connected with a young girl Gorica and her lover Jovica. Gorica was really beautiful – more beautiful than all in the village. The Governor wanted to make her his wife. He ordered his servants to kidnap her. The girl managed to escape, she hoped to find shelter in the mountains, but the Turks overtook her. To once again not to get captured, Gorica jumped into the river from a high cliff. In honor of this girl and was named the waterfall.

Not far from the falls Gorica is a lot of other attractions. In the village of Owcharts interest is the Church of the Holy virgin and the temple built by craftsmen from the village of Krusevo. In Sapareva Banya and you can watch only in Bulgaria fountain-geyser.
