Kallithea is a cosmopolitan resort on the East coast of the Kassandra Peninsula (Chalkidiki) about 50 km South of Polygyros and 90 km from Thessaloniki.

Modern Kallithea was founded in 1925 by immigrants from Asia Minor. Until 1950, the settlement was called "Maltepe", and its residents were engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. Today the population of Kaliai is a little over 500 people. A large proportion of local residents employed in the tourism sector.

Today Kallithea is one of the most popular resorts of the region. Its gorgeous beaches with fine Golden sand and crystal clear waters, magnificent natural landscapes and picturesque pine trees, occasionally descending to the water, as well as excellent infrastructure annually attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. In Greek Kallithea translates as "beautiful view" and it's absolutely true. The beach of Kaliai is a multiple winner of the "blue flag".
