Banovici castle is located in the village Panicy near the town of Kamenets-Podolsky, Khmelnitsky region. Today from the castle ruins of some buildings, the North-Western outer towers and defensive walls.

The castle is located on a high rocky hill above the river Smotrych. This is where a fortification was erected, probably in the second half of the 15th century. In the middle of the 16th century the owner of the castle becomes Kamenetsky warden Nicholas Potocki, who have strengthened this structure. Later, his son Jan Potocki, who was bratslavsky by the Governor, began the construction of a new castle using the old walls and finished it in 1590. The castle had thick walls, large dungeons and deep ditches. Banovci at the time had the status of a city.

According to the planned configuration, the castle was square. Between two quadrangular towers along the outer North wall was a two-storey Palace. Inner South side also there are two small square towers, and next to them built the house in College with a two-storey entrance gate, and to the South-West tower, over time, built a printing press, which were later reconstructed in the chapel. Also, when the castle was built the school with the Academy, which had several classes. This entire complex was surrounded by a ditch and earthen ramparts.

During the Polish-Cossack wars, the castle was devastated. Only in the 18th century it was partially restored. Up to the present time the ruins of the Palace and the North-West quadrangular outer towers and partly defensive walls of the castle. Northwestern quadrangular tower, which is an acute angle substantially protrudes beyond the line of the defensive walls, built of Sandstone.

This monument of defensive architecture is regular with exterior towers protectionmy type of locks.
