There are monuments in Russia, next to which to become warm, comfortable and quiet as a child. One of these monuments adorns the city of Ulyanovsk. August 1, 2008 in the Park down the street Goncharov was the opening of the monument popularly beloved TV presenter "aunt Valya".

Valentina Leontyeva – a native of the city of Leningrad in 1941, fleeing from starvation, together with her sister went to the village of Novoselki the Ulyanovsk region. After the war, Valentina went to study at drama school in Moscow. In her village she returned the people's artist of USSR, laureate of National television award TEFI, a woman who in television human warmth and kindness, the favourite idol for millions of children and adults. Valentina Leontyeva remained in the memory of the whole country as presenter of: "visiting fairy tales", "good night, kids", and people of an older generation - a brilliant leading popular programs: "sincerely" and "Blue light". On the day of the opening of the monument she would have been 85 years old.

The author of the monument – sculptor Nikolai Antsiferov - depicted a slender, elegant woman, sitting in meditation and looking into the distance. The sculpture is cast bronze, the pedestal is made of a rare type of granite, which complements the arrangement, opposite the monument set table with forgotten glasses aunt Valya with decorative benches. The sculptural composition is located in the square, opposite the regional puppet theatre named after V. M. Leontieva.
