State Bank building, located in Kamianets-Podilskyi, although can not compete in the ancient times with the older and well-known constructions, however, it is rightly ranks among the attractions of the city. It is enough to mention the fact that this building is the first that was erected on a New plan – the historic part of the city, began rapidly to be built in the second half of the NINETEENTH century.

Here, after the Old town and the New plan connected the bridge, simply called Novoplanovsky and built this building. The Bank is located almost at the entrance to the bridge, which stretches between the high banks of the canyon of the river Smotrych. In fact, the State Bank building consists of two buildings – the Bank itself, as well as located just above the house, specially built for the employees of the Bank working in it and lived (now here is the Research library). For the construction of both buildings are left relatively little time – from 1896 to 1901. The basis of the Bank building became the project prepared by the architect I. Kalashnikov and provincial architect V. Kalakota. The main building, designed in an l-shaped form, which housed the Bank, decorated with corbels and rustication, imitating stonework. The main entrance is decorated with a triangular pediment and columns, and the southwest hid under a covered terrace with a balustrade. Despite the fact that the building is not new, however, it is still used for its intended purpose, and the reliability can not be doubted, since under the right Bank of the rock cut cellars, whose depth exceeds ten meters.
