In the Yamato period the Noto Peninsula had for the country of great importance. On the Peninsula was occupied ports and shipyards, was conducted Maritime trade and repair of ships, it was one of the military fortresses. Trade relations linked the country of Yamato with the now defunct government of Bocci, which was located in the Northern part of the Korean Peninsula, in northeast China, and occupied a part of the Russian Primorye.
