National Park Khao Laem area of 1497 sq km is part of the Western forest complex - secure state of the ecosystem. He also ranks in the top five national parks of Thailand, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the king Poemon Adulyadej, celebrated on 5 December 1987.
From North to South stretches on the territory of the limestone cliffs, which originates the river Kwai Noi and several other waterways of the country. The vegetation in the Park Khao Laem misc: there are deciduous forests, mountain evergreen and dry evergreen forests.
In Khao Laem inhabit a fairly large mammals, including tigers, wild elephants, several species of deer and wild boars. Like any ecosystem, it also contains various kinds of birds and reptiles.
Especially popular in the national Park is the Khao Laem lake, with its Islands and rapids. Experienced and novice cavers will be interesting to visit the cave Kroeng Crawl with incredibly beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Waterfall Dai Chong Thong in the Park is a powerful stream of water, falling down in the height of 15 meters. Also within the national Park is worth a visit waterfalls Kroeng Crawl and Tracing Chang.
On a small hill surrounded by lakes located myanmarsa (Burmese) stupa, built by the people of Mona, Jae Dee Bo Ong. Local residents monthly bring offerings here and read prayers every 15th day of the moon.
The most comfortable time to visit the Park is the winter months from November to January. During this period, almost no precipitation, and the temperature drops to 10°C, which is in contrast with the hot and muggy South of Thailand is very nice.
