Kuressaare town hall was erected in 1654-1670 years. The building was constructed on the initiative of the Swedish count Magnus Gabriel de La Gardie. The town hall is designed in the Baroque Nordic countries, which is characterized by simple and strict form, but at the same time gives the impression of grandeur and solidity. The decoration of the hall is a sculptural portal with the date "1670". The largest ceiling painting in Estonia is here and decorates the second floor of the town hall.
The building is thoroughly permeated with the spirit of the middle ages, to preserve which was possible thanks to the restorations. In its original form, the building was restored in the 1970s
In our day in the town hall is a gallery and a tour Desk. And to eat, plunging into the atmosphere of the middle ages, here, having had a dinner in the restaurant, which occupies the basement of city hall.
