Tiger temple, or Wat PHA Luang TA Bua, is unique in its kind. It was founded in 1994 as a forest monastery where the monks will be able to engage in a secluded Buddhist practice, but it turned out differently.
In 1999, the locals brought to the temple of the tiger left without a mother due to poachers, then appeared the tigers, suffered from the guns of hunters. Gradually the monks, unable to deny assistance, began to care about these wild cats and domesticated them.
To date, the Tiger temple has more than 100 tigers, who listen to the command of the monks and eat from your hands. Absolutely incredible how Buddhist Ministers found common ground with predators.
Around the Tiger temple there are many rumours. Rumor has it that the monks are engaged in illegal trade in tigers, or worse, feed the animals with a drug, so they were flexible. Where really wonderful harmonious existence of man and wild tiger, you can sort themselves out. Tiger temple offers daily tours where you can see how tigers live here, and how they communicate, like domestic cats, with people.
In addition, the Church has a system of volunteering. When you have free time and desire, anyone can try to work with tigers (initially – with the youngest) and spend time with them all the time.
