Alafuzov theatre is located in the Kirov district of Kazan on the street Gudilova. Formerly the Kirov area of Kazan was called Admiralteyskaya Sloboda.
The Alafuzov theater building built in 1898 – 1900. The author of the project architect L. K. Hermanowicz. Funds for construction were donated by industrialist I. I. Alafouzos. He was the first industrial magnate Kazan. Alafouzos bought primitive industrial farm, located on the right Bank of the river Kazanka. With a family member, he founded the "Association tannery on equal footing" and lapradelle. He held very progressive views. So, they built Alafuzov theatre, was originally called Alafuzov Palace. It was the headquarters of the people's house and the school, designed a work.
The two-story theater building has a strictly symmetrical design. At the corners of the facade built four low, four-sided towers with domes. Previously held the dome in the center of the hipped roof of the building, was destroyed. The building has elegant finishes from high arched Windows in the second floor. In the auditorium, in addition to the stalls, there are two tiers of balconies. The building reminds a famous Alexandrinsky theatre in St. Petersburg.
Until 1918 the building was arranged charity events, showed the performances of the troupe of Amateur actors. From 1918 to 1924, the theater was called "Zarechensky operating theatre". In 1924 was founded children's Tatar theatre when first revealing the Tatar theater. In 1932 in the pioneer club was created by the youth theatre. It consisted of two groups: Russian and Tatar. The theatre toured the districts of the Republic. In 1950, the main part of the troupe was adopted in Tatar academic theatre.
In 1987 the Ministry of education was formed children's theatre, which since 1998 is called Tatar State youth theatre. This theater is located in a building called "Alafuzov theatre".
