Southern Gun corps courtyard Kazan Kremlin - the oldest building of the complex. The body is built in the first half of the 17th century. This industrial premises, which have preserved a system of ducts required in foundries using Dutch technology. Inside the building was found during excavations elements of ancient brick and stone structures of the era Volga Bulgar and Kazan Khanate pertaining to ages 12-16.
The restoration of the South block was made in 1998 – 2005 Western portion of the housing adjacent to the Kremlin wall. From the East the building is located a picturesque ruin. The ruins indicate that in the past housing was part of the U-shaped complex. The housing two floors, within a double-height space. Covered the southern building by a roof of boards. Building facades are decorated blades. Under the cornices of the Windows goes a decorative belt. Segmental arch Windows are framed by rectangular frames in the form of a roller made of brick and the fascia. Doors decorated with wrought iron. Wooden galleries adjacent to the North wall with outer and inner side.
Currently in the southern part of the Gun court is the creation of the Museum of history of Kazan Kremlin.
