The idea of erecting a Church in the name of one of the most famous Russian saints - St. Seraphim of Sarov - arose long ago. In 1993, Bishop Innokenty has brought to the city an icon of God's great Saint Seraphim of Sarov with a particle of relics of the monk. In the first half of the 1990s before several believers in the fishing line, North of Khabarovsk, appeared the image of St. Seraphim. Learned Khabarovsk Bishop innocent, and decided to install in place of the wonderful phenomena memorial cross. Believers have named this place "Serafimovo slide".

After some time, began construction of the Church. Was originally built Seraphim chapel in the Pskov style. Later near it he built the rectory house, which for some time services were held. The Church itself was also designed in the tradition of Russian Northern style of architecture. The author of this project made by famous local architect A. Malsin. The laying of the first stone in the Foundation of the Church was held in August 2003, and the solemn consecration in may 2008, just before the 150-year anniversary of the founding of the city of Khabarovsk.

The total height of the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov – 57 m. It consists of three inner temples: the first is in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov, the second - in the name of the great Martyr Tatiana, and the third, lower chapel, is yet to be titled. The belfry of the Church has ten bells, cast in the town of Borisoglebsk. The temple is decorated with carved walnut iconostasis and icons, written on gold best Moscow masters and gilded chandelier, a replica of an ancient silver chandeliers from Valaam monastery.
