In the city of Kislovodsk, and in its vicinity there is not one landmark, associated with the name of the famous Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov, who came here in childhood with his grandmother. One such attraction is Lermontov waterfall, located on the southern outskirts of Kislovodsk, in the valley of the river Olkhovka. The waterfall has a height of only three meters, but very beautiful.
Lermontov waterfall emerged at the intersection of river formation limestones of lower Cretaceous age. Jets of water in free fall beautiful fall down flat pad, breaking on the rocks, lying in the bottom of the waterfall, and shattered into millions of sparkling spray.
