The Church of St. Nicholas is first mentioned in historical documents in 1311. The date the Church was built is unknown, as no record of it has survived. We only know that in 1901 the Church was partially destroyed and in 1903, on its place was built a new parish Church.

The old building was preserved Gothic arches in the sacristy. One of them remained carved in stone the name "jörg Krech", it is believed that this name belonged to one of the first builders. From the Church tower offers a magnificent view of the city and located behind the Church of the hills and buildings.

Currently, the old Church houses a religious art created in the period from XVII to XIX century Also in the Church there are valuable old organ works by famous masters of Cheerer. The Church works, place of service, christenings, weddings, etc.

The name of St. Nicholas, the patron Saint of sailors, was given to the Church not by accident, because the Croats have always revered this Holy, especially the residents of Krapina.
