Schumann house is a Museum, which was established in the house where the great German composer Robert Schumann lived for four years with his wife Clara. This famous conductor, teacher and music critic who worked in the era of romanticism, created the world famous "Spring" Symphony, written during a residence in the building.

Here was frequently visited by such great composers as Felix Mendelssohn, Franz Liszt and Hector Berlioz. Currently, it operates the Museum, which occupies three living rooms, the remaining part is a music school that bears the name of Clara Schumann, a talented teacher and pianist of his time. At concerts the wife of the composer often played works created by her beloved husband.

Robert Schumann founded in 1843 Leipzig Conservatory, he was a great music critic, which allowed him to become the head of its own periodical, which was called "New music newspaper".

In the house-Museum of Schumann stores various personal belongings of the composer and his wife, including numerous letters and documents, notes, musical scores, instruments and manuscripts. A special place in the exposition is the sketches and drafts, unfortunately, unfinished works. Here every visitor can get acquainted with the musical archive of this distinguished family, view photos of that time, historical documents, narrating the facts of the life and work of Robert Schumann.

In the room where the composer during his life he performed for the guests of his works, now to the public concerts, where you can always hear the musical creations of the great man, who lived in this house in the nineteenth century.
