Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - architectural and Park landscape complex and pilgrimage centre, built in the style of mannerism in the seventeenth century. The complex is located near the town of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. In 1999, the reserve was inscribed on the world heritage list of UNESCO, and 17 November 2000, the building was declared a monument of Polish history.

The construction of the complex began in 1600, at the initiative of the Cracow voivode Nicholas Zebrzydowska. The first building was the Church of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and a humble chapel.

The Church was solemnly consecrated Rangoni Claudius in October 1601. Later, the Governor decided to continue construction in order to create a religious system that is designed for pilgrimage. Project by Belgian architect 24 were built chapel, which symbolize the passion of Christ, and also the 14 crosses, stations of the Cross along the forest. Since the beginning of the seventeenth century for 27 years crosses were gradually replaced in the chapel, in the style of mannerism. In 30-ies of the seventeenth century the chapel was surrounded by a wall, and after the construction of 9 chapels was built a Bridge of Angels. In 1656 the monastery was greatly enlarged, his appearance began to resemble a Palace in the Baroque style. Since 1887 the Basilica houses the miraculous icon of the mother of God Calvary"
