The Church of Krizanke, also known as the Church of Mary of the Assistant is located near the Summer Theatre of Krizanke. The Teutonic order was located in the South-Western part of the city, which is now the New area Bargaining, and in the beginning of the XIII century, built a monastery and Church. The only surviving part of the Teutonic buildings – the famous relief from the main entrance of the Church, depicting the Krakow Madonna created between 1265 and 1270 for years. Now the terrain is stored in the National Gallery.

The modern Church was built in 1714-1715, under the guidance of Domenico Rossi, one of the leading Venetian architects of the time, what is the mark that the only Crusader Church in the province of Carniola was of the greatest importance not only for the crusaders but also for the Vienna Royal court, which was provided with a new Church furniture and decorations. The side altars were painted by Royal artists Martin Altomonte and Anton Suranam. The paintings by Jonathan Michael Ratmir on the main altar, which burned down in the nineteenth century, in 1859, was filled with paintings by the Viennese artist Hans Canon.

The ensemble of the monastery has repeatedly rebuilt, and in the mid-twentieth century architect jože Plečnik turned it into an outdoor theater. Here traditionally held a Summer festival, and in the Knight's courtyard hosts concerts of chamber music.
