Luxor temple – a majestic architectural structure of Ancient Egypt, affecting not only its grandeur of construction and size, but also the elegance of their colonnades, harmony and perfection. The temple, built in honour of the Theban triad - the Egyptian God Amon-RA, his wife Mut and their son of God Khonsu, is located on the right Bank of the Nile in the heart of Luxor.

Luxor temple is one of the most beautiful and largest temples in Egypt. The total length of the temple is about 260 m. At the main entrance to the temple you can see the massive pylons with a height of 20 m and a length of 70 m. North entrance is decorated with four colossal colossus-monolith and rushing up the obelisk.

The founder of this temple was the Pharaoh Amenhotep III. It happened in the fourteenth century BC, in the heyday of the New Kingdom. They built a colonnade, the sanctuary and the hypostyle hall. Pharaohs Tutankhamen and Horemheb built a yard with 74 columns and huge statues of the pharaohs. The extension of the Luxor temple started the Pharaoh Ramses II.

Thanks hieroglyphic texts became known the names of the architects who worked on the construction of the temple. Among them were the architects of the brothers of the Essence and Gori. The main role in the construction of the Shrine which lasted several centuries, played a court architect Amenhotep III - architect heavy.

One of the main features of the temple are its huge colonnade. In temple halls was set column 41, 14 in the Central colonnade and 64 – lobby. Another attraction of the Egyptian Luxor temple Avenue of sphinxes connecting the main temple is the temple dedicated to the consort of the God Amun-RA goddess Mut and their son Khonsu.
