One of the greatest and most remarkable structures of Ancient Egypt to the present day, is the famous Karnak temple. This temple, located on the right Bank of the Nile, was built in honour of the Theban triad - Amun-RA, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. The most interesting temple is the great temple of Amun-RA. This large building was begun by Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who appointed the 12 columns of the main nave with a height of 23 m. Continued construction of subsequent pharaohs, among them the pharaohs SETI I and Ramses II. One of the main attractions of Karnak temple of Amun hypostyle hall is an amazing, with dimensions of 52 m in depth and 103 m in width. In the hall there are 144 columns, fully painted with colored reliefs.

Today the temple of Karnak is the world's largest religious complex, main state sanctuary of the Ancient Egypt, the main historical monument of the country and the second most visited attraction after the pyramids of Giza.
