Geological natural monument of Geological outcrops of Devonian and Ordovician rocks on the river Saba" was organized in 1976. It is located 3 km from the village of Osmino, near the village of PAED. The geological monument square is 650 hectares.

The territory of the nature monument is organized in order to protect the outputs of geological rocks of Ordovician and Devonian ages on the day surface, as well as the preservation of the remains in the Devonian deposits of the crustacea fish.

Investment attractiveness of the reserve is obvious. This natural monument can be good for excursions in the protected areas of the Luga and Gatchina areas.

River valley Saba on the plot, which begins two miles above the village PAED and ends at 3, 5 miles below the village the Osmino, has a cross-shaped profile. The width of the valley is 250-300 meters. The width of the river is 20-25 m and has a depth of 0, 3 - 1, 5 m. the river is calm, characteristic of lowland rivers of the Russian North-West. The valley has a North-South orientation from South to North. River channel meandered within rectilinear valley. Where a hygiene problem the root of the shore, on the surface facing red Sandstone of Devonian age, they are the mineralized remains and imprints of fossil crustacea fish.

Common bedding of the layers is substantially horizontal, in some horizons there is a clear oblique lamination. Outcrops rise above the water's edge for 1 to 6 m, sometimes 12-15 m. the Length of the outcrop ranges from a few meters to hundreds of meters (at selected sites). The vegetation is highly disturbed due to economic activity, which was the result of development of the territory in person and close proximity of human settlements. Anthropogenic pressure on the vegetation is expressed in deforestation, mainly near the towns, littering, fires, destruction of the slopes, the plowing of the territories along the banks of the river, trampling. On the banks of the subs indicated the areas of small-leaved-broadleaf forests, they are best developed on the cliffs, in particular, in the vicinity of Osmino.

Representatives of broad-leaved tree species here is most commonly found rough elm, which reaches a height of at least 15 m, also registered ash, smooth elm, oak, Linden, maple. In the herb layer dominant species are those that are associated with deciduous tree species. Among them is the ground–, forest bluegrass, Zelenchuk yellow, forest starwort, stitchwort lantsetolistnogo, distributed sitonik male, Lily of the valley, the bell persikolistny Pine forests, etc. are presented under restoration after fires Lugovoye pine forests. There are also fragments landyshovich pine stands. Small-leaved forests are represented by Servolenkung.

Most of the territory of the natural monument is grassland. Low-grass meadows growing on the site of the fire, are composed of BoysNice mountain, cat's foot, clover field, tar adhesive, sedges versational, numerous field. On the left Bank of the subs near the village of PAED., affected by fires meadows are marked with common Heather. On such dry meadows are frequent: the lichen reindeer moss and bushy lichens of the genus Cladonia. On moderately wet sites – Luga with a bell kuchenny, black mullein, oregano, and others. In more humid areas near the water's edge are high-grass meadows, where they meet Veronica longifolia, Dong Quai, yellow meadow Rue, Siwiec field, and others. On the mowed meadows earlier, now turned in deposits, along with fodder grasses grow sorrel sour, bent grass fine, St. John's wort.

In the vicinity of Osmino celebrated a rare species of agrimony pharmacy. In addition, nezadelannyh raw the banks of the river meet the loosestrife coin-like, creeping Buttercup, mint field gershnik amphibious. Coastal-aquatic and aquatic vegetation includes river horsetail, arrowhead ordinary, the pod ulticultural plantain, sugarcane, bulrush, venom, the Mannik large, the iris yellow, the most typical are direct, Filipendula ulmaria (L.) and meadow-sweet Nude, sedge sharp, loosestrife loosestrife, there are also small courtines Buttercup longifolia, a rare species of broadleaf marsh Sandpiper were occurred.

On the territory of the monument of nature specially protected: outcrops of the Devonian period, fossils of plants, animals, rare species of plants: Botrychium partitioned, bukashnik mountain, Carlina Finnish.
