Kampinos national Park – Polish reserve, established in Masovia province in 1959. In January 2000, was included in the list of biosphere reserves of UNESCO. National Park with an area of 385 sq km is the second largest in Poland. Park – forest, which occupies more than 70% of the total territory. The most common trees here are pine. The main river of the Kampinos national Park is Lasica, in addition to which the area has lakes and ponds. One of the most prominent features of the Park are the dunes and marshes.

The national Park has a rich history. Here there are traces of human habitation since the stone age. It is known that the forest until the fifteenth century was the property of the Mazovian princes. There were the hunting grounds of Jan III Sobieski and stanisław August Poniatowski. Until the eighteenth century was conducted in the forests felling for charcoal production. Great damage was caused to the Kampinos Park during the First world war, when the trees were cut down in large scale for military purposes. The idea of creating a national Park was born shortly after the end of the First world war, however, the forest was in private ownership, which prevented the realization of this idea. The Park was only established in January 1959.

In the Kampinos Park is home to 3000 species of animals that make up a large part of the fauna of the country. Here you can see wild boars, deer, beavers, moose, Martens, badgers, cranes, black stork, grey Heron and bittern.

The national Park is visited annually by over a million tourists, of which there are Hiking trails as walking and Cycling.
