Mozyr George's Church, or a Temple in honour of sacred great Martyr George the victorious, was erected in the years 1995-1998 for the private entrepreneur of the city of Mozyr Chobanyan of Wascana of Anisovich.

The place of erection of St. George's Church was not chosen by chance – the mound of Glory. Glory on the Mound are monuments to the defenders of the patronymic. Here the townspeople come to remember the fallen in the great Patriotic war soldiers. 6 may 1995 was consecrated a place for the construction of a temple in honor of the memory of all those who died for the faith and Fatherland soldiers and leaders.

Voskan Anisovich Chobanyan was awarded for services to the Orthodox Church of the order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree. In addition to St. George's Church, Chobanyan founded and is a member of the boards of Trustees of several charitable foundations. These funds help to seriously ill survive Belarusian children and care for orphans Mozyr orphanage.

In 2001 George Church was visited by his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II.

Several times the Church was built on private donations Mozyr businessman, was desecrated and set on fire. 25 December 2006, the wooden St. George temple was desecrated and burned by Satanists. This barbaric case of vandalism has stirred up the public Mozyr. On the call of the Bishop of Turov Stephen responded believers. Their donations in March 2007 started the construction of a stone temple. November 16, 2010 at the new Church were set gilded dome.

December 25, 2010 new stone Church was consecrated by the Bishop of Turov Stefan.
