The legendary "Alyosha" – it is a memorial complex, located in the Leninsky district of the city of Murmansk. The memorial is an imposing figure of a Russian soldier, which is installed on one of the highest hills of the famous Kola Bay. This monument, which is a symbol of Murmansk, a port city Murmansk affectionately called "Alyosha".

One of the capsules contains land that is mixed with the blood of soldiers, a lot of which died on the fields of defense of the Kola Peninsula; the land was taken from the Valley of Glory, which was the most fierce and bloody battles with the Nazis. Second capsule contains sea water accumulated in the place where the ship "Fog" heroically fought the enemy. Many sailors were killed in battle with the Nazis in an unequal, unfair fight.

In 1965 were still alive, many war veterans and their wives and mothers waited for their loved ones, unfortunately, who did not return from the front, while the idea of creating a memorial monument in honor to the blessed memory of the soldiers who defended the North of the Soviet Union.
