The house-Museum of Adam Mickiewicz, the great Belarusian poet, was first organized after the revolution. The decision of the Military revolutionary Committee of 16 September 1920 the Museum was created and began gathering the collection.

In 1921 Novogrudok became part of Poland. Thanks to this event, had the opportunity to visit the native land of the eldest son of Adam Mickiewicz Vladislav, who was born and lived in Paris, never been to the homeland of his father. In 1924 a Committee was formed Mickiewicz. In 1938, the Museum was opened. Through the efforts of the Committee Mickiewicz was a unique collection of historical items related to the life and work of the poet. In 1941 the Museum was hit by German aircraft bomb. Priceless exhibits were killed, the house was destroyed.

After the war began the restoration of the Museum. A replica of the house Mickiewicz was built on the remains of the Foundation. Gathered the exhibits of the Museum. To the 100 anniversary since the birth of Adam Mickiewicz 26 November 1955 was re-opened the house-Museum in Novogrudok, in the city, where he spent his childhood and youth of the poet.

In 1989 began a large-scale reconstruction of houses and household buildings to ensure accurate reproduction of the historical monument. In 1993, was engaged to work the Warsaw literary Museum named after A. Mickiewicz. September 12, 1993, the house-Museum was opened after reconstruction. Now the exhibition has more than 5000 items.

In the house-Museum of Adam Mickiewicz guided tours dedicated to the life and work of the poet, exhibitions, poetry and music evenings. The house-Museum participates in the annual international event "Night of museums".
