The Church of Nuestra Señora de La Soledad in Spanish means "the Church of our lady of Solitude". The Cathedral is one of the few of its kind Christian churches throughout Latin America. The temple was built over three hundred years ago and until now has kept its majestic appearance. Temple is located in the city of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico.

The construction of the Cathedral began in 1682, and in 1690 the Church was consecrated. The Church was built by Fernando méndez. The façade was built between 1717 and 1718, with the assistance of Bishop Maldonado Murals. Statues of saints made of wood and plaster, a beautiful marble baptismal font and, of course, the statue of our lady attract tourists ' attention.

The virgin of Solitude is Holy patroness of Oaxaca. Her statue in the Church of Nuestra Señora de Los Soledad decorated with 600 diamonds and a 4-pound gold crown framed by diamonds, the robes of the virgin covered with pearls. In the 1980s, crown with precious stones was stolen. Today the head of the statue covers her exact copy.
