Town Unicov on the river Okawa not is small and consists of about a thousand buildings. The historic center is compact for inspection will only need a few hours.

Unicov very well located: in the plain between the mountain ranges and the river. Now it is a cozy, quiet Czech town, which would be similar to other provincial towns, if not a few important local sights that must be seen. To the important artifacts include the diploma of Margrave přemysl Otakar, which in 1234 Unicov received city rights. Such an ancient document of its kind in the Czech Republic is no longer extant, so the local diploma is considered to be unique.

That Unicode originally settled by miners, was recently reaffirmed by the findings of local archaeologists. During excavations on the territory of the ancient Church, they found jewelry and coins made of tin, which date from the XIII century. Of the buildings of that time almost nothing has been preserved, many buildings were destroyed by fires.

From constructions of a later period of construction, the tourists will be interesting fountain, created in the XVIII century, and the city Museum that tells the history of the Olomouc region.

The city preserved medieval fortifications. These include Metaliskie gate through which earlier inhabitants and guests of Unicov used to enter the city.

Another interesting object for inspection is a former prison, now converted into a prison Museum. The building, which houses the exhibition, has not changed since the mid-nineteenth century. The staff of the Museum in a gloomy interiors with accurately recreated the gendarmerie, which was then in the nineteenth century. Also in the Museum are shown the instruments of torture.
